8 years of you

To our gorgeous Micah Moo! You are now 8 years old! I can't quite believe it!

So, what did your birthday look like this year?

A party for you was playing football the day before as a family and having three extra special guys come along to join in who you just love and are so enthusiastic about. You LOVED this!

A middle-of-the-night wake up for me so you could show me your birthday balloon. You asked me how old you would be and where your cake was.

You were keen to open your presents. I think you were really hoping for yet another guitar but you seemed very happy with your new drum and Hot Wheels car transporter.

You wanted to have a look at your Kane and Son cake and for us to light the candles and blow them out altogether.

You liked your football decorations and even sat on the birthday bench with Noah.

You loved it when we prayed for you and thanked God for you.

Later on in the day you wanted us to light the candles on your cake again and this time you wanted us to sing Happy Birthday to you.

You enjoyed birthday pancakes for dinner.

Happy Birthday gorgeous boy! I'm so thankful for 8 years of you and all you bring to our lives. But also for all the ways in which you, by just being you, are teaching me, stretching me, challenging me, changing me and ultimately helping me become a better person.

Because of you I am learning to become much more patient and understanding.

Because of you I can now really empathise with other people in a way I couldn't before.

Because of you I have become more open, vulnerable and humble.

Because of you I am less judgemental and more accepting of others

Because of you I am not as worried and concerned about what people think.

Because of you I have really been taken out of my comfort zone especially with my faith.

Because of you I have had to dig deep with my creativity.

Because of you my eyes have been opened to a boy that although is met with challenges has such a pure contentment and innocent joy.

Thank you Micah for being you and for all you're teaching me.

Love you lots.

Mummy x
